This painting was done in 1999. The concept is that a musician has the ability to take an idea or a composition and make it something outward. The song is symbolized in a sort of structural helmet or hair that becomes an external and visible element to be seen (heard) by an audience. Of course there is a parallel with myself as a visual artist and my attempt to visually represent the process by which a musician creates.
