Started the Electra this week. It’s 24 x 36, acrylic on gallery canvas. New series of buildings started a few canvasses ago with the Olympic Plaza painting and then Imperial Towers. The theme so far anyway is lozenge shaped buildings in Vancouver. The Electra is a jewel of the Vancouver skyline with it’s strong lines and reflective glass, cool colours and diamond themes. In older photos of the building it stood above a much less cosmopolitan city than we know today. It is what i like to call Optimistic Architecture. This is the early stages of the painting, I will post updates as I progress.
